Dr. Hanan Elgendy

Dr. Hanan Elgendy, BDS, MS, is a Clinical Associate Professor at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. With a background from Ain Shams University and private practice experience, she focuses on teaching dental anatomy, dental photography, and advanced aesthetic operative courses.

Dr. Elgendy completed her Master’s degree in operative dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She has immense dedication to enhancing student learning in restorative dentistry, particularly in CAD/CAM and cosmetic dentistry.

As a clinical tutor for the LDi Diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, she teaches tooth morphology and smile design, combining aesthetics with scientific principles.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this Live Study Club participants will:

Identify the relationship of achieving successful, healthy, and functional results with the aesthetics diagnosis and smile design.
Identify the principles of smile design to be used to develop an ideal diagnostic wax-up.
Recall the differences of the digital and regular smile design.
Recognise how to transfer the information in the diagnostic wax-up into a completed provisional that rivals the final restoration.
