Learning outcomes

By the end of this Live Study Club, participants will:

Recognise the common drugs used in medicine, including bisphosphonates and biologics, and the conditions for which they are prescribed.
Appreciate the implications of these medications in oral surgical practice and the guidelines covering the management of such patients.
Diagnose and manage clinical complications associated with such medications, including the risks, prevention and management of MRONJ.
Recognise the importance of identifying such patients, obtaining informed consent, and liaising where appropriate with their physician.

Dr. Richard Moore

Dr Richard Moore is a Consultant Oral Surgeon, academic, and educator with extensive experience in clinical practice, research, and dental education.

His PhD explored referral behaviours in oral surgery and the factors influencing clinical decision-making in primary care.

Richard has recently been appointed Vice Dean and Associate Professor at the University of Lincoln, where he is leading the development of the new Dental School and its innovative undergraduate dental programme, with a focus on widening participation, workforce development, and improving access to dental care.

Dr. Moore teaches on the LDI Diploma in Dental Implantology & Oral Surgery as well as our Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.
