Professor James Field is a full-time Professor in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff Dental School, and University Hospital, Wales. He is currently the Director for Learning and Teaching and has extensive experience with delivering innovative teaching in restorative dentistry. Professor James holds a Master of Arts degree in Education and a National Teaching Fellowship.

He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators, a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers, RCSEd. Wider afield, Professor James chairs the pan-European curriculum taskforce for the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) and has written several leading texts in fixed and removable prosthodontics.
