Sinus Lift & Block Grafting Cadaver Course
A 3-day practical workshop for the GDP on advanced dental implant treatment, including sinus lifts and block grafting.
Course Overview
This 3 day workshop aims provide a comprehensive introduction and hands on experience of sinus lift and block grafting procedures to facilitate dental implant placement
The format will involve pre-course webinars and reading lists followed by a day of face-to-face seminars and 2 days of hands on experience on fresh frozen cadavers with 1 head shared between 2 delegates. The course is comprehensive with broad background information provided from an evidence-based and pragmatic perspective to allow practitioners to safely introduce these techniques into clinical practice.
Practical experience
Priority will be given to delegates gaining hands-on experience of actual surgical procedures for
themselves in a relaxed and supportive environment. The course will be limited to 10 delegates in order to maximise the learning experience. As the course is limited to a small group, there is potential to adjust the content to meet individual learning requirements.

Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at delegates who are largely confident with basic GBR procedures and suturing however there is flexibility to help consolidate these skills if required. If you feel you need to develop these skills more it may be worth attending the Implant Treatment Planning Course prior to the Cadaver Course.
Speakers
The teaching will be led by consultants in relevant specialties with supporting seminars from additional medico-legal and scientific experts. This is to provide context to the procedures from a clinical and practical standpoint to underpin the focus on surgical skills.

Mr Vijay Santhanam

Vijay Santhanam is a Consultant Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgeon based at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Vijay will also be leading on the webinar, seminar and practical content.
Mr Rishi Sharma
BMBCh FRCS ORL-HNS
Rishi Sharma is a Consultant ENT surgeon with specialist interests in sinus disease, sino-nasal oncology and anterior skull base surgery. He is a member of the Pituitary, Skull Base and Head & Neck multidisciplinary teams.
Rishi will be providing seminar teaching outlining the ENT considerations for sinus lift procedures.

Mike Williams is a Dental Advisor at MDDUS and Specialist in Oral Surgery.
Mike will be providing seminar teaching outlining the medico-legal aspects of complex implant work.
Dr. Christiane Marinc
Christiane has a doctorate in Biology and has worked at botiss for 10 years. She completed her PhD thesis at the Charité – University Hospital of Berlin, Germany.
Christiane will be providing seminar teaching on a range of commercial biomaterials relevant to dental implants.
