The course
This one-day, theoretical-practical course aims to deepen the clinical understanding of the management of TMD cases through the use of bite planes and occlusal lifts as therapy. This session will include a live patient demonstration to explore the concepts and treatments in practice
OUTCOMES
UNDERSTANDING TMD AND ESTABLISHING DIAGNOSTIC PROFICIENCY
Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and develop proficiency in implementing comprehensive diagnostic approaches. This includes adopting routine diagnostic procedures to accurately identify and assess TMD, ensuring a robust foundation for subsequent management and therapeutic strategies.
PRACTICAL PROFICIENCY IN BITE PLANE THERAPY
Participants will enhance their practical skills and proficiency in applying bite plane therapy for managing TMD. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical exercises, dentists will understand how to construct and manage bite planes effectively to address the challenges and complexities posed by TMD.
IMPLEMENTING OCCLUSAL AND BALANCING CONTROL IN BITE PLANE THERAPY
Participants will develop the skills and understanding to conduct occlusal and balancing control in the context of bite plane therapy. This involves understanding the nuances of occlusal dynamics, how to assess and adjust bite planes to optimise occlusal relationships, and ensuring that these therapeutic devices offer maximal benefit in the management of TMD.
SPEAKER
Dr. Stefano Carderi
Dr. Stefano Carderi, based in Italy, earned his Dentistry degree from the University of Rome and achieved specialist qualifications in Orthodontics at the University of Chieti. As a certified Invisalign provider, with a passion for the treatment and education of TMD he has also spoken at several international conferences.
Dr. Carderi is a Clinical Tutor at the LDi, delivering webinars on the Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, supporting students with their cases, organising Live Study Clubs, as well as teaching in-person in London.
