The London Dental Institute has grown rapidly over the past few years, welcoming dentists from around the world to study with us online through our UK-accredited postgraduate programmes.
As our community has expanded, so has the need for an identity that reflects who we are today: a modern higher-education institution with a strong academic foundation, a clear link to London, and a commitment to delivering postgraduate study at the highest standard.
Our new visual identity has been shaped around these ideas. It brings together the traditions of London’s great universities with the contemporary character of a digital learning institution, creating a brand that feels both established and forward-looking.
Here, we’re exploring our new design, letting you in on the meaning behind our new branding and how we think it will power the change that is to come.
Inspired by London’s academic heritage
Our proud origins in London are one of the core tenets of our academic identity. So core, in fact, that it’s the first word in our name. London is a city that inspires us and propels us forward.Â

As we think about our future we also look back, to the centuries of medical and dental academic breakthroughs, the powerful spirit of academia in our renowned institutions, and the spirit of multi-cultural community found only in London. In our new branding, we wanted to share that spirit, and where better to start than with the skyline?
The new wordmark and our new icon echo the vertical rhythm of the city’s skyline, the powerful way that the City stands proud.

In the typography itself, we draw directly from the lettering traditions seen across London’s historic educational buildings. The balanced, carved-letterform style gives us a recognisable academic presence while remaining approachable to dentists who may be returning to study after several years in practice.Â

This blend of heritage and modernity reflects the kind of postgraduate experience we provide: rigorous, structured, and designed for working clinicians.
A colour palette grounded in trust and professionalism
To go with our new logo, we’re also refreshing our colour scheme.
Our original palette was inspired by the clinical crispness of whites and blues. While we value the cleanness of our previous palette, as we expand we want the freedom to be more creative and to represent each of our distinct diplomas differently.
Our new color scheme introduces celadon greens, ocean teals, and royal blues – paying homage to our clinical roots but in a bold, fresh, exciting way.

Each programme area carries its own complementary colour family, helping new students quickly navigate our course pathways and understand where their interests fit.

Our rebrand is subtle, and beneath the surface, we still remain the trusted academic institution that thousands around the world rely on for their postgraduate education. Yet we like to think that this new look is a nod to what’s to come.
Every element of the rebrand, from colour to typography, was chosen to enhance clarity and consistency across our digital learning environment. It’s designed to make your experience smoother, more intuitive, and more inspiring, whether you’re exploring our Diploma in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics or progressing through complex clinical case discussions.
As we move forward, we hope that this new identity will serve as a symbol of our shared ambition: to make advanced dental education accessible, flexible, and academically exceptional.
