There’s something about this time of year that always brings a sense of momentum, and it’s a lot more than just the sunshine!
Perhaps it’s because we’re still riding high after our phenomenal CUSP short course earlier this month, or maybe it’s the energy that so many new fundamentals module students bring to the LDI…. Can you feel it too?
Anyway, here’s what’s been happening this month.
A Full House in London
This month, clinicians travelled to London for CUSP: The Direct Posterior Workshop with Dr. George Cheetham and Dr. Wiktor Pietraszewski.
Both sessions sold out well in advance, reflecting just how much demand there is for practical, hands-on restorative training. In fact, CUSP might be the first ever dental course that sold out in minutes.
What stood out most for attendees, however, was the atmosphere in the room. There was a strong sense of focus throughout the sessions, with participants working closely under the guidance of Dr. George and Dr. Wiktor. The nature of the teaching encouraged active engagement, with clinicians refining techniques and gaining insights that translate directly into everyday practice.
The response to the workshop has been overwhelmingly positive, not only in terms of attendance, but in the level of engagement and the impact on those who took part.

Looking Ahead to October

Following the momentum of April, attention is now turning to one of the most anticipated events in the LDi calendar…
The Orthodontic Conference, taking place on the 19th – 23rd October in Central London, will bring together a small group of clinicians for an immersive, hands-on training experience.
Limited to just 16 participants, the conference is designed to create a highly interactive environment, with direct access to faculty, practical workshops, and detailed case-based discussions. Over five days, delegates will work through key areas including diagnosis, treatment planning, biomechanics, aligner protocols, and TADs.
For those who were unable to attend CUSP, or are looking for a more in-depth in-person experience, the conference represents the next opportunity to step into a focused learning environment.
If you missed out on CUSP and are looking for a live course, there’s still time to secure your place below.
Preparing for the May Cohort
Behind the scenes, preparations are well underway for the next cohort, beginning in May.
All three Diplomas will open on 29th May, and incoming clinicians have already started working through the Fundamentals module.
This stage of the journey often brings a particular kind of energy. There is a sense of anticipation, combined with a renewed focus on the fundamentals that underpin more advanced clinical work.
If you’re ready for the challenge of the Diploma, then now really is the time to secure your space. Access to the Fundamentals Module is now available, to give you time to brush up on your postgraduate skills and prepare for the Diploma. Find a course and enrol below.
New Additions to the Clinical Research Modules
As part of ongoing content development, new material has been added to the Clinical Research modules across the programmes.
This month, Dr. Kaiseree Dias has recorded a series of webinars designed to support clinicians in engaging more confidently with research and academic writing.
The new sessions include:
- Dental Public Health
- Conducting Qualitative Research Studies
- Introduction to Scientific Writing
- Introduction to Publication and Dissemination
- Introduction to Literature Searching and Referencing
These new lectures are available to all current students now on the VLE.
Graduate Network Access
These new materials are also available to members of our Graduate Network.
For past students, the Network provides a way to remain connected to ongoing education, access updated materials, and continue developing clinical and academic skills beyond the duration of the Diploma.
If you’re a past student and would like to find out more about the Graduate Network, you can do so here.
