Continuous improvement is one of the most rewarding, and perhaps one of the most challenging, aspects of postgraduate education.
Unlike many projects that have a clear beginning and end, education is never truly finished. There is always another opportunity to make a concept clearer, a practical exercise more valuable, or a resource more useful for the clinicians who rely on it every day.
At the London Dental Institute, that philosophy shapes everything we do. Every piece of student feedback, every new publication, and every discussion with our faculty prompts us to ask the same question: How can we make this even better?
Sometimes the answer involves introducing entirely new content. At other times, it is the consistent accumulation of smaller refinements that gradually transforms the learning experience. Those changes may not always be visible from the outside, but they have a lasting impact on the dentists studying with us and, ultimately, on the patients they treat.
It’s a reminder that continuous learning doesn’t only apply to clinicians. As educators, it’s something we should embrace too.
Course Updates
This month we’ve introduced two new practical videos by Dr. Eugenia Raffaelli within Orthodontics Module 10, demonstrating the Rapid Maxillary Expander protocol and clinical fitting procedure.
We’ve also updated our patient information leaflets and consent forms across all programmes, while continuing to refresh theory content, beginning with the Diploma in Dental Implantology & Oral Surgery.
Like I said, we never reach the finish line with our courses. I’m proud of how we continually work to update them as research evolves, and it’s where much of the hard work behind the scenes takes place.
