September often brings a sense of a fresh start. After the slower pace of summer, routines return, diaries begin to fill up and attention turns to the months ahead.
At the London Dental Institute, that feeling is particularly strong this year. We’re preparing to welcome our biggest cohort of the year, with clinicians from the UK and around the world getting ready to begin the next stage of their postgraduate education.
It also follows a busy summer for our Live Study Clubs. More than 500 clinicians joined us during August alone, and we have another three sessions coming up in October.
Here’s what’s happening at the LDI as we head into autumn.
The September Cohort is Almost Here!
Over the coming weeks, a new group of clinicians will begin studying with the London Dental Institute across our postgraduate programmes in orthodontics, dental implantology and oral surgery, and aesthetic and restorative dentistry.
Our programmes are designed to allow clinicians to continue developing their skills without putting their existing careers on hold. Students combine flexible online study with practical education, clinical resources and ongoing guidance from experienced faculty.
They’ll also be joining an international community of dental professionals, with opportunities to discuss cases, exchange ideas and learn from the experiences of clinicians practising in different settings around the world.
For many students, postgraduate education is about much more than gaining another qualification. Developing expertise in a new area of dentistry can help clinicians approach more complex cases with confidence, broaden the treatments they provide and create new opportunities for career progression and increased earning potential.

527 Attendees Joined Our Live Study Clubs in August
While August is traditionally a quieter month for many, our Live Study Clubs remained busy throughout the summer.
We hosted three Live Study Clubs during August, with a combined 527 attendees joining us across the sessions.
These events bring clinicians together to examine real clinical challenges, hear directly from experienced educators and discuss different approaches to treatment and decision-making.
They’re also an opportunity to continue learning beyond the structured programme of a postgraduate course. Each session focuses on a specific clinical subject, allowing attendees to explore the topic in greater depth and put their questions directly to the clinicians leading the discussion.
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us during August and contributed to another successful month of Live Study Clubs.
Three More Live Study Clubs Coming in October
The programme continues next month, with three more Live Study Clubs scheduled for October.
Among the upcoming sessions, Dr Amardip Kalsi will lead Dental Implant Case Discussions, exploring some of the common decision-making scenarios clinicians encounter in implant dentistry.
We’ll also be joined by Professor Marko Jakovac for a session exploring complex oral rehabilitation in patients with amelogenesis imperfecta. Through two complex cases, the session will consider analogue and digital approaches to treatment and the clinical decisions involved along the way.
As always, the Live Study Clubs provide an opportunity to explore relevant clinical topics with our faculty and join the discussion in real time.
You don’t need to be an existing LDI student to attend. Our Study Clubs are open to the wider dental community, so clinicians interested in any of the upcoming subjects are very welcome to join us.
Looking Ahead to a New Term
September is shaping up to be an exciting start to the new academic term at the London Dental Institute.
With our biggest cohort of the year preparing to begin, hundreds of clinicians continuing to join our Live Study Clubs and another programme of sessions ahead, there will be plenty happening across the LDI community this autumn.
