Autumn has arrived, and with it comes one of our favourite times of the year.Â
There’s something about the crisp September air that always carries a sense of new beginnings. For many of us at the London Dental Institute (LDi), that feeling is reflected in the start of our September cohort, the intake we look forward to most each year.
This month, we’re reflecting on what we achieved over the summer, welcoming inspiring new faculty members, and preparing to embark on fresh academic journeys together.
Our Faculty Continues to Expand
One of the joys of leading the LDi is seeing our faculty grow and evolve. Every new contributor brings a wealth of knowledge and a different perspective, and together they strengthen the learning experience for all of our students.
This September, we’re thrilled to welcome several new faces:
- Anna Peterson, who will highlight the importance of social media for dentists and clinics, an area increasingly tied to patient communication and trust.
- Steve Campbell, joining the Diploma in Dental Implantology & Oral Surgery, will explore Custom Abutments and their role in implant longevity and patient outcomes.
- Dr. Alif Moosajee brings his warm and engaging style to the Diploma in Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry with a session on Cosmetic Dentistry and Whitening.
- Dr. Kiran Shankla, also teaching on the Aesthetic & Restorative programme, will lead a session on The Business of Whitening, giving practical advice for dentists who want to integrate whitening into their practice more effectively.
- Dr. Marco Vinattieri Amelotti joins the Implantology faculty to teach both An Introduction to Guided Surgery and Advanced Concepts in Guided Surgery—two sessions we know will be in high demand.
- Dr. Diana Heimes will further enhance our focus on patient comfort and safety with her teaching on Pain Management in Dental Implantology and Oral Surgery.
Together, these additions enrich our courses not only with technical expertise but also with fresh perspectives on patient care, practice management, and clinical innovation.

1,027 Attendees! Were You One of Them?
August was a record month for our Live Study Clubs, with an incredible 1,027 attendees across four sessions.
- On Wednesday 13th August, two Study Clubs brought together 480 participants.
- On Friday 29th August, another two Study Clubs drew in 547 participants.
It was inspiring to see so many of you take part, share your thoughts, and learn alongside your peers. The energy and curiosity in these sessions remind us that learning is not a solitary pursuit but a collective effort; one that benefits both clinicians and patients alike.
Looking ahead, we’ve got four more Study Clubs lined up for September, and we’d love to see even more of you join. They’re free, highly interactive, and open to all. This month, we invite you to extend the opportunity to a colleague or friend. By bringing them along, you’ll help grow our circle of learning and contribute to an even stronger professional community.

Enrolment Is Still Open
Finally, a reminder that our September intake begins on 26th September. All three of our diploma programmes are still open for enrolment:

- Diploma in Dental Implantology & Oral Surgery
